Why have you nominated this Partner?
Paragon is a great software development partner for our niche market. We have worked with them since 1990 and they continue to offer value and improvements to their ERP system that are meaningful to us and other customers. It is difficult to write systems that manage metal. Unlike general line manufacturing systems, metals systems must account for products that change shape through manufacturing that both raises the value of material going to the customer and conversely lowers the value going back to stock. These systems cannot maintain simple routers for processing material either. Manufacturing a finished product can go through different combinations of machines to arrive at the same end product.

Even greater than their product are their people. We maintain close ties and really enjoy working with them on new requirements for quality, ISO, processing, costing, quoting, imaging. They understand our business and are looking for a solution that works, not just a sale.

How would you describe your overall satisfaction with the value you receive from doing business with the nominee?
We find the greatest value when we contract their personnel on site to review some of our business processes. Inevitably we learn about new features in the software or a new perspective on how to use existing tools. Often, their staff will find something we hadn’t thought to discuss and that opens doors for greater customer service or faster internal processing.

Paragon’s software, Metalware, is a tool for business. Our business processes rest on top of this. Paragon’s value comes in two forms. First they build software that meets very unique needs in the metal service center industry. Second, they constantly assist in making the software work better for us, be it changes to our workflow, modifying programs, training, or building entirely new programs that not only meet our needs but are written in such a way to be useful to many Paragon customers.

How would you describe the degree to which doing business with the nominee helps you better serve your own customers?
Metalware runs our business. With the exception of Human Resources, every employee in the company uses it daily to accomplish their work. It is the pipeline product for sales, manufacturing, and accounting of the business. Our strength in business is our niche market and strong customer service. The same elements are true for Paragon as well. Their software serves a very specific niche and their people are focused on helping us do business better.

All things being equal, how likely are you to engage the services of the nominee in the future?
We have an on-going relationship with Paragon and communicate weekly at a bare minimum and several times a day when developing solutions together.

How likely would you be to recommend the services of the nominee to other businesses or business associates?
We have recommended Paragon’s Metalware package to several prospects and have hosted demonstrations to their software. If you are in metals and need a system to manage your inventory and material processing we believe there is nothing better.
